If you said yes to any of these questions, then the Australian Mountain Doodle may be the dog for you.

The Australian Mountain Doodle is a mix between aussiedoodle, poodle, and bernedoodle. They are very intelligent, caring and gentle and allergy friendly. Can’t choose between an Aussiedoodle, Poodle or a Bernedoodle? This is the perfect mix for you! You get the best of both breeds. The goal in creating an AMD is to create an Aussiedoodle with lower energy level while improving the lifespan of the Bernedoodle side, with the amazing traits of both breeds you get an even more amazing dog. The AMD is extremely intelligent, friendly, and family-oriented. They are sometimes used as service or therapy dogs. These dogs love to play but, are just as happy to lay at your feet or on your lap if allowed. The AMD is very sweet yet outgoing enough to interact with other pets and people. They can be very patient with small children.
As with any new puppy, they need early socialization. They are eager to learn. Training must be done with reward, firmness, patience, and consistency. We recommend My Loyal Hound which we have partnered with, to help provide you with all the training resources puppy parents will need in order to experience better animal ownership and the very best canine companion. The 4-week training is included in price of your puppy.
Type of Australian Mountain Doodles We Breed?
We currently breed a multigenerational standard Australian Mountain Doodle.
Our AMD are bred from a Standard Aussiedoodle and a Mini Bernadoodle.
They will be a medium size dog 35-55+ lbs.
What will my Australian Mountain Doodle look like?
The AMD is a beautiful dog that comes in many different colors. The goal is to retain the gorgeous coloring and markings of the Australian Shepherd and the stunning tricolor of the Bernese Mountain Dog, while getting a hair coat that is low to minimal shedding. The size varies depending on the cross of the parents. Our Standard AMD will generally range from 18-25 inches at the shoulder and can weigh between 35-55+ pounds.
One of the advantages of our AMD is that they shed very little, if at all. Their coats run the gamut from curly, straight or wavy, depending on the generation and parents. Straighter coats do tend to shed a little more. The AMD hair coat will require more frequent brushing when their hair is grown out on the longer side. They should be groomed every 6-8 weeks. Daily brushing is key to keep up with tangles and to avoid mats.
What kind of temperament will my Australian Mountain Doodle have?
The AMD is a wonderful mix of the Aussiedoodle and the Bernedoodle. They are very loyal, caring, gentle, and eager to please. They make great family pets and companions. They are great with children. The mellow demeanor also makes them ideal for a service dog candidate. The AMD is an easy-going breed. They will enjoy daily activities and socialization. Daily walks and playtime are ideal. They enjoy mental stimulation to curb boredom in the home. They like to go with the flow of their owners. Whether it be, going on walks and errands or lounging on the couch and napping.
What kind of training will my Australian Mountain Doodle need?
We start your puppies in training as soon as they are 4 weeks old. They are very intelligent and aim to please. Training should be continued as soon as you take your AMD home. Training should be maintained with positive reinforcement and treats if you so please. If training is started as soon as you pick your new puppy up things will be much easier in the future.
